PHD Comics’ Jorge Cham and co-author Daniel Whiteson at Fermilab Friday

If you’re a fan of PHD Comics, or even if you aren’t, it’s time to get excited about our special guests this Friday.

On May 19, you’ll have a chance — three, in fact! — to meet and mingle with Jorge Cham, the creator of PHD Comics and UC Irvine particle physicist Daniel Whiteson, who are making a special stop at Fermilab as part of a tour promoting their new book, We Have No Idea.

Noon, Ramsey Auditorium
Fermilab will host a screening in Ramsey Auditorium of The PHD Movie. Cham and Whiteson will be there for an informal Q&A following the movie.

3:30 p.m., Fermilab Art Gallery
Come to a wine and cheese reception in the Fermilab Art Gallery for an informal meet and greet with Cham and Whiteson. Talk about the new book, what’s involved in developing a successful online comic, physics, pop culture, the universe.

8 p.m., Ramsey Auditorium
Tickets are still available for Cham and Whiteson’s Arts and Lecture Series talk. They will explore why a vast portion of our universe is still a mystery and what a lot of smart people are doing to understand it. At this quirky, vibrant and engaging discussion, they’ll also examine some of the biggest holes in our cosmic knowledge. Tickets are $7.
