Martina Martinello wins 2018 IEEE PAST Doctoral Student Award

Martina Martinello

The IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society Particle Accelerator Science and Technology Technical Committee (PAST) has awarded Fermilab scientist Martina Martinello the 2018 IEEE PAST Doctoral Student Award for her contributions to the physical understanding of limiting factors in superconducting radio-frequency cavities. Martinello conducted her doctoral research at Fermilab while enrolled at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The IEEE PAST Committee established the award to recognize significant and innovative technical contributions to the field of particle accelerator science and technology as demonstrated in a student’s doctoral thesis.

The PAST awards will be presented at the 2018 International Particle Accelerator Conference, which will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, from April 29-May 4, 2018.
