Main Site ICW Flushing

FESS/FM has a schedule in place to perform the annual ICW flush for main site (excluding the village).  The work is slated to be performed on the week of 9/17/2018 thru 9/21/2018 0800 – 1630 daily and we will be systematically flushing approximately twenty miles of piping. Notification that we will be in a specific area will be made advance of our arrival to that area and will need to have the area around fire hydrants cleared of vehicles.  We will deploy safety cones to assist in the restriction of vehicles/personnel/parking.  All flushing related equipment, as well as any dislodged debris, will be immediately removed following the completion of that areas flushing.  During previous flushes, we have seen momentary instances of pressure deviation of a couple of pounds but have not had any process equipment go down due to the performing of the hydrant flushing.

During this process there will be a lot of areas that will have standing water and will give the appearance of something leaking.  Please advise personnel in your area of this ongoing process and if standing water is noted please assist us by first identifying the water issue as an active leak or the remains of our flushing process.  If you note water actively bubbling up out of the ground please contact us immediately through work central at X-3434, John Pollock or myself.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions or comments, John Pollock at X-5253 cell 630-659-6211 or email pollockj@fnal.gov  or myself at X-3007 cell 630-951-5300 and or email shirley@fnal.gov.
