When you have a human-resources-related question, issue or concern, Fermilab’s HR generalists are available to help you quickly and effectively. They can coordinate assistance with HR specialty areas such as benefits, compensation and employment; they also help to implement and support HR services, policies and programs.
We have three HR generalists, and they are conveniently located across the laboratory. Jeff Artel serves the Computing Sector, BSS, ESH&Q, FESS and Finance; Heather Sidman covers the Accelerator Sector (including the Technical Division), 2nd-floor Directorate and WDRS; and Deanne Slapa handles the Particle Physics Sector, Visual Media Services and the Office of Communication. Jeff and Heather have been in their positions for about two years. Deanne recently joined the group after working as a Fermilab recruiter.
HR generalists are happy to answer questions about topics including retirement eligibility, leave of absence, pay policies, training courses, flexible spending accounts, signing up for the mothers’ room, setting performance goals, resolving a conflict with a staff member and accommodating work restrictions.
I encourage you to visit the WDRS website for more information on HR generalists, including office hours and locations, and how to contact them.
