Clutter is a new email feature you may have noticed when using your Fermilab email account that filters low-priority mail out of your inbox. The Clutter feature analyzes your email habits to determine which messages you are most likely to ignore and then moves these messages to the Clutter folder. For privacy reasons, Microsoft removes any personally identifiable information from the data used to improve the Clutter feature. You can continue using email as usual and Clutter will learn which messages are not as important to you. From time to time an item may be moved to the Clutter folder that you do not want there. To avoid missing messages, you should occasionally scan the Clutter folder and move any messages that should not be there back to your inbox. Clutter will learn from this and sort your mail accordingly. If you want to remove the Clutter feature, it is easiest to remove it via your web client.
1. Sign in to Webmail https://fermimail.fnal.gov.
2. Click on the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner.
3. Select “Options.”
4. On the left-hand side navigation, under “Mail,” select “Clutter.”
5. Uncheck the box marked “Separate items identified as clutter.”
6. Click “Save.”
