Web Query and FESS Crystal Report downtime and interface changes Saturday, Feb. 20

The Core Computing Division will be upgrading the lab Web Queries and FESS Crystal Reports, which are the Fermilab business reporting services systems, to a new server on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Lab Web Queries and FESS Crystal Reports will not be available during the maintenance window. Users may experience slight delays when accessing queries or reports for the first few times after the maintenance window.

The upgrade will cause minor interface changes to the lab Web Queries and FESS Crystal Reports, including:

• The look and feel of a PDF rather than a Word document. This upgrade means you will have the ability to scroll between pages rather than clicking through using arrow icons.

• The icons at the top of the queries and reports will be re-arranged. Some icons will be located on the upper left side of the page rather than at the top of the page as they were previously.

• Links within the queries and reports may be a different color than previously and links may not be underlined completely as they were previously. The links will still work. For screenshots displaying these changes, please see this Knowledge Base article: https://fermi.service-now.com/kb_view_customer.do?sysparm_article=KB0011934

If you use a bookmark to directly access specific web queries rather than first going to the lab Web Query landing page, you will need to update your bookmark after the maintenance window. If you continue to use the former URL for a specific query, you will be redirected to the new URL after 10 seconds. The URL for the lab Web Query landing page and the URLs for FESS Crystal Reports will not change.
