About 40 physicists from the CMS collaboration worldwide participated in a three-day workshop hosted last week by the LHC Physics Center.

Searches for strong supersymmetry production were the focus of the first Run 2 data in 2015, exploiting the increase in the center-of-mass energy to rapidly gain sensitivity.

In 2016, the delivered luminosity should exceed LHC Run 1, and searches for electroweak production and compressed scenarios also will break into new territory.

At these meetings, attendees discussed these searches, including a status review of ongoing experimental efforts, new analysis ideas, logistical organization for a comprehensive search program with the 2016 data, and theoretical inputs for interesting or missing signatures.
