As mentioned at the recent all-hands meeting, safety at Fermilab is of the utmost importance. What we’ve learned – both here and from other labs – is that a fresh perspective can help us identify ways to improve safety.

Beginning June 1, all ESH&Q resources will be centralized within the ESH&Q organization, led by Chief Safety Officer Martha Michels.

While nothing will dramatically change with the way you interact with ESH&Q right away, you will begin to see new faces among the familiar ones. The new centralized organization allows for more collaboration and information sharing between ESH&Q staff. It also allows ESH&Q staff to rotate among different departments and buildings, providing a fresh set of eyes and perspective.

Contact Martha Michels if you have any questions regarding the upcoming changes.
