Walking a fine line between distracted and dangerous

While injuries from car accidents involving distracted driving tend to be more severe, researchers have found that distracted walking causes more injuries per mile than distracted driving.

Those who walk distracted could find themselves bumping into other people or objects, falling down stairs, or stepping into traffic (as seen in all those viral videos).

To prevent further incidents of pedestrian injuries and deaths, we are responsible for taking our own precautions. If you are not willing to put your phone down and walk, there are apps available for iPhone and Android users that will give you a view of what is front of you on your phone screen while using the texting feature. Or you could always hire someone as your seeing eyes… Seriously though, we all just need to pay attention to where we are walking.
