Employees and users invited to screenings of Star Wars fan film

star-wars-1For the past 10 years, Darren Crawford of the Accelerator Division has been working on his own Star Wars fan film. Now employees and users are invited to see the fruits of his labor, as the hour-long “Star Wars: Forgotten Realm” will screen for free in Ramsey Auditorium at noon on Tuesday, Dec. 13 and on Thursday, Dec. 15.

“Forgotten Realm” was partially filmed at Fermilab and stars many familiar Fermilab faces. The employee screenings will follow a premiere evening in Ramsey Auditorium for cast, crew and the public on Saturday, Dec. 10, which will include presentations about the physics of Star Wars. Given limited seating for that event, employees and users are encouraged to attend the Tuesday and Thursday lunchtime screenings.

“For everyone who knows Fermilab, there will be a few Easter eggs to discover in the movie,” Crawford said. “But we also have great space battles and everything one expects of a Star Wars movie.”

“Forgotten Realm” is an unofficial fan-film that is not intended for commercial use and does not derive any revenue or profit.  This fan-film is not connected in any way to Lucasfilm Ltd. or The Walt Disney Company.
