The Innovation Fund spring investment cycle application is officially open.
The Innovation Fund is a $20 million investment fund dedicated to supporting emerging companies and commercializing early stage research at the University of Chicago. Applications for the spring cycle are now being accepted. Join the Polsky Center for an info session about the Innovation Fund spring investment cycle on Wednesday, February 15. The Fund invests in promising technologies and startups created by current faculty, students, and staff of the University and its affiliates, including Argonne National Laboratory, Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, and the Marine Biological Laboratory.
Fund applicants receive expert feedback from a committee of industry experts, both internal and external to the University of Chicago — distinguished angel and venture capital investors, scientists, and entrepreneurs — to help them move their projects forward and create lasting impact for humankind. Investments range from $20,000 to $250,000 and can be put toward prototyping, commercialization strategy, critical market studies, and leveraging of other proof-of‐concept funding sources.
