Happy Year of the Rooster! On Friday, Jan. 27, the FSPA, Global Services and the Chinese-American Society co-hosted a Chinese New Year party at Kuhn Barn. More than 100 people attended the event.
Partygoers enjoyed authentic Chinese food, tasty snacks, karaoke and Chinese character writing on red banners. These banners are meant to bring luck and good fortune to the household where they are hung. Guests of the event were invited to learn how to make dumplings, a food traditionally eaten at Chinese New Year celebration!
“It was a wonderful party! There was karaoke, and the food was delicious. My daughter really enjoyed it,” said Valentina Gelmi, who attended the event with her husband and young daughter.
“The party is great! It has all the elements for a Chinese new year,” said Wanwei Wu, MVP of the dumpling making team. “My family really enjoyed it. Hope we can have this party every year.” Wu joined the party with his parents from Shandong, China.
