A look at Fermilab’s Earth Week fair

On April 20, Fermilab employees stopped by the Earth Week fair in the Wilson Hall atrium to learn about high-speed rail, energy-efficient lighting, bicycle commuting and other measures we can take to be greener in our everyday lives.

The Fermilab Electric Vehicle Club showcased their cars in the horseshoe in front of Wilson Hall, the Fermilab Garden Club shared the various plants they’ve been growing on their plots, and Fermilab Natural Areas informed people about the area’s endangered and invasive species. The Fermilab Stockroom was there to remind employees that they have a variety of ecofriendly office supplies to choose from.

Outside organizations SCARCE and Pace also showed up to promote recycling and commute-sharing.

Attendees raffled for prizes, including different types of plants.

We look forward to next year’s fair. In the meantime, continue to keep Earth in mind.
