On Sept. 1, Fermilab scientist Boaz Klima will begin his two-year term as chairperson of the CMS Publications Committee.
As chairperson, Klima will oversee the publications of CMS papers, including notes, and ensure their high quality. He will also help propose rules and guidelines for CMS publications to the CMS Collaboration Board.
“I am delighted that Boaz had agreed to take on this important new responsibility, shepherding the enormous scientific output of CMS through to publication in peer-reviewed journals,” said Fermilab Deputy Director Joe Lykken, who is a member of the CMS collaboration.
The CMS Collaboration Board appointed Klima to the position after consulting with the CMS Search Committee and with endorsement of the CMS Management Board.
“It’s an honor for me to be asked by CMS to do this job,” Klima said. “CMS has always published world-class physics results, all of which refine our understanding of the universe, if not challenge it. I’m glad to have a chance to continue the tradition.”
Congratulations to Klima on the new appointment.
