Many thanks to the 700 employees, users and friends of Fermilab that have already signed up to help with our Community Open House, including those who responded to last week’s request to help us fill open slots. We could not do this without you.
We’ve nearly met our goal and, in order to close the gap, are extending the sign-up deadline by one day, to Tuesday, Sept. 12. Sign up to help with a half- or full-day shift at our biggest Open House in decades.
Can you help? We need to fill just 90 slots. I know we can do it.
We could use more orientation tour guides on the welcome tour buses in the afternoon, so consider signing up for this role. Don’t worry — the tour script is already written! All you would need to do is read the script as the orientation bus makes its route and make our guests feel welcome.
This is a momentous year in Fermilab’s history, and we have a great deal to be proud of. Consider sharing our history, accomplishments and science with our fans and with those who may be only now learning about our groundbreaking research by signing up to help with the Community Open House.
Andrea Heeg is the Fermilab 50th anniversary events manager.
