Purdue Men’s Varsity Glee Club to perform in Downers Grove

Purdue Men’s Varsity Glee Club, including Purdue University senior and Fermilab Research Alliance scholarship recipient Erik Jensen, will perform for one night at Downers Grove North High School, Saturday, October 7 at 7:00 PM.

The Purdue Varsity Glee Club has a 125 year tradition of entertaining audiences. The singers perform a variety of crowd favorites, including gospel, romantic ballads, classical choral selections, barbershop and patriotic standards, and utilizes small groups and outstanding soloists to further enhance each show.

Under the direction of William Griffel, this select ensemble has entertained on behalf of Purdue University for campus, community, state, national and even international events, averaging between 50-60 appearances each year.

As part of the Purdue Varsity Glee Club tradition, seniors are offered the opportunity to return to their hometown and perform a “home show”. The chance to again sing in front of family and friends is exciting and meaningful.

Additionally, the Saturday, October 7 performance will include selections by the Downers Grove North Chamber Choir. The Chamber Choir is one of the most advanced vocal ensembles at North High.
