2017 NATIONAL DISABILITY EMPLOYMENT AWARENESS MONTH
“Inclusion Drives Innovation”
Date: Thursday, Oct. 26
Time: 9:30–10:30 a.m. CT
The DOE Office of Economic Impact and Diversity invites you to join us as we celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) on Thursday, Oct. 26, at 9:30 a.m. CT. The event will stream live via www.energy.gov/live-stream.
This year’s national theme, “Inclusion Drives Innovation” celebrates the contributions of workers with disabilities and explains the value of a workforce inclusive of their skills and talents. This special observance provides an opportunity for the Department to reaffirm the value and contributions each employee brings to the work environment to support the Department’s overall mission.
DOE’s program will include a panel discussion of professionals from various backgrounds on disability employment and policy. The panel members will include DOE employees, Department of Labor’s Disability Policy Advisor, and the Director from Gallaudet University’s Career Center. The panel discussion will be moderated by a Disability Employment Policy Advisor from the Office of Federal Operations, U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC). The event will stream live via www.energy.gov/live-stream.
If you have any questions, or if you need a reasonable accommodation(s) for this event, please contact Christina Floyd at Christina.Floyd@hq.doe.gov.
*If contractor employee attendance coincides with work hours, the contractor employee should consult with their employer, who will coordinate with the contracting officer, prior to attending.
