Applications for the 2018 FRA Scholarship accepted online Feb. 21 through April 30, 2018

Fermi Research Alliance, LLC (FRA) offers a limited number of competitive, four-year college scholarships for children and legal dependents of regular full-time FRA employees. The scholarships can be used for tuition and fees.

This year’s program incorporates several new features:

  • In an effort to ensure complete impartiality in the selection of eligible recipients, as well as maintain a high level of professionalism, the program will now be administered by an independent, external consultant – International Scholarship and Tuition Services, Inc. As a result:
    • The application and administrative processes will now be handled online via this link.
    • The selection criteria have been broadened to include not only the candidate’s official SAT score, but also information concerning the candidate’s academic achievements and records, leadership activities, community involvement, work experience and essay content.
  • Online applications will be accepted beginning Wednesday, February 21, 2018 through Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time Zone.

The total number of awards made each year is determined at the sole discretion of FRA in its capacity as Managing Contractor of Fermilab, subject to the availability of funding and fiscal year budgetary requirements. The related policy can be accessed here.
