On Feb. 13, Fermilab recognized 31 laboratory employees who received patents or filed records of invention in 2017, honoring them with the Fermilab Inventor Awards.
Five patents were issued to Fermi Research Alliance LLC in 2017.
Office of Partnerships and Technology Transfer Manager Cherri J. Schmidt hosted the awards ceremony and presented the awards. Fermilab Director Nigel Lockyer, Fermilab Chief Operating Officer Tim Meyer and DOE Fermi Site Office Deputy Manager Mark Bollinger all spoke at the event.
Kevin Soules, associate at OL Patents, an intellectual property law firm, presented a special lecture titled “Innovation and Patents: From Practical to Peculiar.”
A reception followed the ceremony.
