2019 Fermilab DOE Mile results

Thank you to all the volunteers who came out and helped with a successful DOE Mile Race and Health & Fitness Day Event.

A special thanks to Kate Gregory, Martha Michels and Amber Kenney for starting the race and working the finish line.

We had 203 participants brave temps in the 40s and 21-mile-per-hour winds.

The following people should stop by the Recreation Office in Wilson Hall, 15 West, and pick up their medals on Thursday, 9-10 a.m. or 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

The top self-identified male runners were: (1) David Yu (5:43), (2) Jonathan Hunt (6:00), (3) Clarence Wret (6:13), (4) Nathan Ruffatti (6:18), (5) Jason Hempstead (6:19), (6) Jacques Nhahsturo (6:21), (7) Alexander Shemyakin (6:22), (8) Gilberto Perez (6:39), (9) Alex Perloff (6:42).

The top 10 self-identified female runners were: (1) Elena Shemyakina (6:54), (2) Corinne Mills (8:10), (3) Cindy Joe (8:19), (4) Allie Hall (8:34), (5) Meiqin Xiao (9:07), (6) Mary Simmons (9:32), (7) Susan Dittmer (9:52), (8) Kaori Maeshina (9:52), (9) Amanda Early (10:02), (10) Kirsty Duffy (10:13).

The top 10 self-identified male walkers were: (1) Rob Atkinson (12:40), (2) Dave Hoppert (13:59), (3) Jim Zagel (14:00), (4) Rich Motill (14:39), (5) Noah Curfman (15:03), (6) James Ranson (15:07), (7) Jesse Batko (15:40), (8) Arv Vasanis (15:41), (9) Liujin Pei (16:20), (10) Nigin Nigam (16:21).

The top 10 self-identified female walkers were: (1) Alpana Shenai (15:07), (2) Gayle Millman (15:14), (3) Linda Valerio (15:40), (4) Beth Klein (16:10), (5) Mayling Wong-Squires (16:10), (6) Lauren Biron (16:21), (7) Maura Barone (16:38), (8) Michele McCusker-Whiting (16:38), (9) Leah Hesla (16:56), (10) Caitlyn Buongiorno (16:56).

The top five in each of the above categories were submitted to Sandia for Fermilab’s DOE Mile Race results along with Fermilab’s participation percentage of 11%. Those results will be shared when the final results from all labs are in.
