Power Outage for Electrical Maintenance at GCC Tuesday, May 21

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
In order to perform electrical maintenance, a power outage has been scheduled for the Grid Computing Center (GCC) on Tuesday, May 21. This power outage will affect GCC Computer Room B, Computer Room C, and Network Room B.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?
Tuesday, May 21; 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Central Time

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?
• During the maintenance window stated above, there will be no power in GCC Computer Room B, Computer Room C, and Network Room B. As a result, the following services will be unavailable:

o LQCD clusters pi0, pi0g, bc, ds and dsg (also known as exdsg)
o LQCD node lqcdsrm and the Globus Online endpoint lqcd#fnal
o LQCD Lustre file systems /lqcdproj and /lfsz as well as NFS file system /project
o All Wilson cluster CPU, GPU, KNL and IBM Power9 compute resources
o Wilson cluster Lustre file system /lfstev

• FermiGrid and CMS Tier 1 batch systems will run in a degraded mode (at about half of their full capacity) during the maintenance window, since about half of the nodes are located in Computer Room B.
• This power outage will not impact GCC Computer Room A, Network Room A, or Tape Robot Room.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
• Please be aware of this downtime.
