News question: Know your fundamental particles?

Quiz time: Show that you know Fermilab discoveries!

Fermilab News at Work congratulates Rachael Keller for winning last week’s quiz. The answer was: Nitrogen doping is infusing nitrogen in the inner surface of an accelerator cavity.

Thank you to everyone who participated!

A winner will be randomly selected from all lab employees and users who submit the correct answer to the question by noon today. The winner will be recognized in next week’s quiz and will be rewarded a small token of recognition. Show off your attention to all the exciting news coming out of Fermilab.

This week’s question is:

How many of the 12 currently known fundamental particles where discovered at Fermilab? (Hint: Know your elements? 150 years since Mendeleev’s Periodic Table.)

Send your answer to news@fnal.gov by today, June 27, at noon.

Good luck! We will announce the winner and answer next week.

Past winners are welcome to participate in the quiz each week. However, only one win per person will be recognized in any 30-day period.
