A memorial visitation for Fermilab postdoc Simone Marcocci will be held this Friday, Aug. 16, from 4-8 p.m. at the Daleiden Mortuary at 220 North Lake St. in Aurora. His family welcomes Simone’s friends and colleagues to pay their respects. More information can be found at the mortuary webpage for Marcocci.
A sympathy card for Simone’s family is available for signing. Please see Julie Saviano on WH12NW.
In addition, in the coming weeks, Anne Schukraft is collecting photos and written memories of Simone that will be made into a bound book for his family and fiancee. If you would like to share a photo of Simone, please upload it to https://photos.app.goo.gl/2E5nuAZrwvintPCB8. Also, if you have a story or memory of Simone that you would like to share with his family, please send to Anne for this special memory book.
To honor Simone’s passion for science education and Fermilab, his family invites co-workers and friends to consider contributing to the Fermilab Friends for Science Education fund: https://ed.fnal.gov/ffse/paypal/ffse-donate.html (please donate to the General Fund and enter “in memory of Simone Marcocci” under “add special instructions”). If we are able to raise more than $1,000, we will be able to have Simone’s name permanently engraved on a bronze sculpture outside the Lederman Science Center. Please consider donating.
