News question: Know your cryomodule collaborations?

Quiz time: Show that you know about the PIP-II cryomodule collaboration!

Fermilab News at Work would like to congratulate Adam Wixson for winning last week’s quiz! The answer was: Fermilab staff used earthquake detecting equipment to identify whether vibrations affecting the effectiveness of cavities designed for LCLS-II at SLAC were internal or external. Thank you to everyone who participated!

A winner will be randomly selected from all lab employees and users who submit the correct answer to today’s question by noon today. The winner will be recognized in next week’s quiz and will be rewarded with a small token of recognition. Show off your knowledge of the news coming out of Fermilab.

This week’s question is:

In which five countries are cavities and cryomudules for PIP-II being built? (Hint: See “First major superconducting component for new high-power particle accelerator arrives at Fermilab.”)

Send your answer to news@fnal.gov by today, Aug. 22, at noon.

Good luck! We will announce the winner and answer next week.

Past winners are welcome to participate in the quiz each week. However, only one win per person will be recognized in any 30-day period.
