NAS maintenance and file server outages Wednesday, Sept. 11

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Computing will be performing routine maintenance on one of the NAS (network-attached storage) central file-server clusters.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?
Wednesday, Sept 11; 4 a.m. to 5:30 a.m. Central Time

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?
During the maintenance window, the following file servers will have two 30-second outages:

• filesrv02
• finsrv44
• blue1
• filesrv-app
• cdserver
• cdfserver1
• d0server6
• d0server4
• dirserver1
• eshserver1
• lsserver
• numiserver
• ppdserver

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
• Avoid opening files on the file servers listed above during the maintenance window.
• If possible, Windows and Mac users should log off their computers when leaving work on Tuesday, Sept. 10.
• Windows and Mac users who experience issues with file services after the maintenance window should reboot their computers.
• UNIX/Linux system administrators, please check your NFS mounts after the maintenance window and perform re-mounts if needed.
