Chicago Sinfonietta presents A Celebration of Works by Hispanic Composers – Oct. 10

Join us to kick off Fermilab’s FY20 continuation of InclusionMatters, featuring a chamber music ensemble from Chicago Sinfonietta.

The free concert takes place on Thursday, Oct. 10, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in Ramsey Auditorium.

Come as we honor and reflect on the musical and cultural contributions of some of the world’s most prolific composers during Chicago Sinfonietta’s specially curated Hispanic Heritage Month performance and discussion.

This presentation features:

• A one-hour concert featuring classical works of composers including José Pablo Moncayo, Astor Piazzolla, Arturo Márquez, Gabriella Lena-Frank, and others

• A discussion of the music’s cultural tributaries, the history of the Chicago Sinfonietta, and an interactive Q&A

“Chicago Sinfonietta’s Cultural Empowerment Series uses classical and contemporary music to celebrate the accomplishments of diverse artists while highlighting how we all benefit from diversity, equity, and inclusion in the arts. Through these specially designed programs, we aim to elevate cultural understanding in an intimate, interactive setting while inspiring and educating participants by sharing their music, our history, and our passion for inclusion.” — Jim Hirsh, Chicago Sinfonietta CEO
