White Rabbit is an extension of Ethernet which provides sub-nanosecond accuracy and picoseconds precision of synchronization for large distributed systems. It also allows for deterministic and reliable data delivery. The talk will provide introduction to the WR’s principles of
operation, hardware/software implementation and typical applications, with particular focus on the WR Trigger Distribution system (WRTD). The
WRTD uses a WR network to connect Time-to-Digital Converters (TDCs) and digital Pulse Generators, distributing trigger pulses with low and fixed
latency. This allows for synchronization of signal acquisition in large-scale DAQ systems. A live demo of WRTD may follow (time constraints and hardware availability permitting
