You’re invited: “Basics of Proposal Preparation” — Oct. 18 at Argonne

David McCallum

Fermilab’s Office of Partnerships and Technology Transfer and Argonne’s Technology Commercialization and Partnerships Division cordially invite you to attend “Basics of Proposal Preparation,” presented by New Program Capture Manager David McCallum in Argonne’s TCP Division. The session takes place at Argonne on Friday, Oct. 18, from 2 to 3 p.m. and is structured as a presentation followed by a Q&A session.

McCallum will discuss the key activities that take place before, during and after proposal writing. Pre-proposal writing activities include:

  • developing an understanding of sponsor needs and wants.
  • reviewing and analyzing the solicitation to extract information about proposal contents and format.
  • structuring the proposal to meet the needs of the reviewer.
  • understanding the review process.

Advance registration is required and should be completed as soon as possible so OPTT can make the necessary arrangements for your Argonne guest pass, required by Argonne’s site access procedures. Please contact me in OPTT at lrogas@fnal.gov or x6966 to make guest pass arrangements.

McCallum provides writing and strategy support for Argonne staff members who are involved in proposal preparation. He previously served as vice president for business development with MicroLink Devices as well as with numerous small businesses in roles including fundraising and technology development and commercialization.

Laura Rogas is the program administrator for the Fermilab Office of Partnerships and Technology Transfer and the Illinois Accelerator Research Center.
