From April 2-4, the Fermilab professional chapter of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers will host the Regional Leadership Development Conference for the Midwest. Early bird registration is open until Feb. 27. This conference is sponsored by Fermilab, the Illinois Institute of Technology, and industry partners such as Boeing, Cummins, Procter & Gamble and the Illinois Department of Transportation.

We are expecting about 350 attendees, primarily engineering students and professionals from the Midwest. The conference agenda includes career, leadership and professional-development workshops focused on topics such as effective time management to increase productivity, developing the ability to influence others and strategic planning for career success.

The motto of the conference is “Lift as you Climb: Accelerate Your Future!” The RLDC agenda was built around continuous self-improvement strategies to improve leadership skills and strategic career paths.

This is a great professional development and networking opportunity for employees and users. There are two days of workshops and panels: On April 2 and 3, the conference takes place at the Hotel Arista. On April 4, the conference is hosted at Fermilab. A gala dinner on Saturday evening at Hotel Arista closes the conference.
