Windows 10 Edge browser upgrade Tuesday, Oct. 27

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Microsoft released a redesigned Edge web browser. Computing will be replacing the Windows 10 native Edge browser with the new version of Edge on all Windows 10 PCs.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?
The new version of Edge will be deployed Tuesday, Oct. 20; starting at 2 a.m. Central Time or the next time your Windows 10 PC is online and connected to the Fermilab network.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?
The upgrade will run in the background. No reboot will be required for this upgrade. If Edge is running, it will automatically be closed.
The new version of Edge will have a slightly different look and feel.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
When you finish work on Tuesday, Oct. 27, please make sure that your Windows PC is turned on (laptops should have the lid left open) and is connected to the Fermilab network, and that you are logged off. If you are working from home, make sure your Windows PC is connected to the Fermilab network via VPN.
