University of Chicago presents “Picture a Scientist” virtual screening and discussion

Editor’s note: As of Friday, Nov. 13, at 11:30 a.m., the screenings are sold out. A few tickets remain for the panel discussion.

Register to watch the feature-length documentary film “Picture a Scientist,” which leads viewers on a journey deep into a group of women scientists’ own experiences.

“Picture a Scientist” was an official selection of the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival. The film’s virtual theatrical run reached 47 theaters across the U.S. in June and raised money for two organizations advancing women of color in STEM.

Register now to view the film, to attend the panel, or both. Click on “Select a Time,” then “Tickets” to choose your options. You’ll receive a link to the film enabling you to watch it online at any time Nov. 13 -15. You can also attend a virtual panel discussion on Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. featuring one of the scientists from the film and several UChicago women in STEM.

University of Chicago’s Young-Kee Kim will be moderator.
