In 2020, Fermilab artist-in-residence Patrick Gallagher adds the finishing touches on a set of pieces that are carved acrylic and resin for the “Scalar Series.” In this project, Gallagher explores visual interpretations of magnitude, size, direction and other elements within vector fields, a mathematical tool for understanding spatial interactions.
