Last week was the inaugural Snowman Building Competition. Twenty snowmen and other snow creations engaged in a fierce competition in the following categories: most creative, favorite, best photo with snowman, best traditional snowman and best nontraditional snowman. Voting took place earlier this week.
“My first snowman ever is actually a snow woman! It was a great experience to build it with my family’s support. Thanks for the initiative!” Liliet Calero Diaz, creator of Snowy Cuban, said.

Vibodha Mudiyanselage and N.C. Perera created Mr. Misty Having a Starbucks While Working on His Project With His Mac Under a Tree, winner of the favorite snowman category.
“This is our first ever snowman building experience. And we loved it!” Perera said.

Everardo Granados created Ouroboros Quetzalcoatl, a giant “feathered serpent” in the Village.

“Baby Snowda and his less colorful friends all donned their matching scarves and warm hats and went for a toboggan ride one snowy day. They even brought some of their pets along. Why, yes, they are doing magnetism experiments on the toboggan! And yes, that is Mt. Wilson in the background,” snow sculptor Dennis Nicklaus said.

“Here (left) is my crappy blob snowman,” James Santucci says. “Then my wife (Laura) turned it into an awesome 5-foot-tall Dalek (right). I hate her.” Photo: James Santucci
