The Comms Center gets a new name: Security Operations Center

The Wilson Hall Communications Center has been renamed the Security Operations Center to better reflect the role of the emergency dispatching.

The SOC is considered a proprietary supervising station, which means it is run by appropriately trained, 24-hour on-site security. Located on the ground floor of Wilson Hall next to the Badging Office, the SOC is the operations hub for the Site Security Department, monitoring critical alerts such as oxygen deficiency hazards and fire alarms. In addition, the SOC handles all x3131 emergency calls, dispatches Security and Fire department personnel, activates the Sitewide Emergency Warning System, monitors sitewide security cameras, and answers all the laboratory’s switchboard calls. The center also handles security case reports, key requests, card access requests, vehicle stickers, after hours housing keys, lost and found, and other functions.

If you have any questions about the Security Operations Center, contact Donna Iraci at x4251 or iraci@fnal.gov. We’re here to serve you.
