BSS/Finance firewall patching Thursday, May 13

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Computing will be applying a software patch to the network firewall to address a minor issue.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?
Thursday, May 13; 6 a.m. to 7 a.m. Central Time

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?
All systems behind this network firewall will experience intermittent or no network connectivity during the outage window. Other systems that rely on resources behind the firewall may also be impacted. This includes the MFA terminal servers dedicated to the business and financial applications accessible through https://xen-rsa.fnal.gov and https://xen-piv.fnal.gov. Some of the most notable applications/services that will be impacted by the outage are listed below:
• CNAS
• Cobra/Open Plan
• FINSRV44 (PII data server used by HR, ES&H, Visa Office, etc.)
• Oracle eBS (both Web and Discoverer access)
• PeopleSoft
• Procard
• Sunflower
• Teammate (auditing application)

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Please make sure you have closed all applications that use any of the Business/Finance servers prior to 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 13. To be safe, you can simply log off your computer before you leave the previous evening.
