EDI Contributor Awards – July 2021 recipients

Congratulations to the July 2021 recipients of the EDI Contributor Awards! This cycle of recipients stood out for their leadership within the community and inspired others to impact Fermilab’s cultural change. Kathy Vuletich

In addition to serving on the lab-wide Equity, Diversity and Inclusion task force, Kathy spearheaded the creation of the ES&H Improvement Team, a small group that meets regularly to brainstorm and promote EDI initiatives, work/life balance and collaboration within the ES&H Section.

Kris Brandt

Kris has been a significant contributor to Fermilab’s efforts with Grace Hopper. The Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing is a series of conferences designed to bring women’s research and career interests in computing to the forefront.

Lorena Lobato

Lorena consistently contributes to EDI conversations and ensures that all decisions and opportunities in the department are inclusive. Lorena is also very active in the Inclusion Matters space and always encourages colleagues to enhance their cultural competence.

Ryan has led efforts for increasing diverse hires in the SDC area by attending conferences, meeting diverse talent where it is, and redefining what it means to be a qualified applicant.

Yun He

Yun has been the leader of the Fermilab Asian Pacific Association since its inception. She has grown FAPA and cultivated it into a safe, welcoming community, which has become increasingly paramount in the past year of increased Asian-directed violence.
