Exchange Online Archive for Outlook to be enabled Monday, July 12

WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Computing will be enabling Online Archive for Microsoft Exchange fully licensed users that use Windows Outlook client or Outlook Web Application (OWA).

Everyone with a full email account has had their local email quota increased to the maximum, 100GB. This is a hard limit set by our license and cannot be changed. Once this limit is reached, users cannot send or receive email. Currently, users must either delete items or move items out of their mailbox into a PST file to recover space in their mailbox. The Online Archive provides unlimited storage.

NOTE: Most of the lab does not need to use this feature because they are nowhere near their local quota limit of 100GB. However, if you wish to use this feature, read on.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?
Monday, July 12

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?
Access to your Online Archive is only available via Outlook and Outlook on the Web (OWA).

Only mailboxes granted through a full Microsoft O365 Office suite can take advantage of this feature. If you were granted a mailbox only by Fermilab, then archiving is not available to you.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
To learn how to access your Exchange Online Archive, see the article at https://fermi.servicenowservices.com/kb_view.do?sysparm_article=KB0014011.

Individuals who are approaching their 100GB quota should contact the Service Desk if they need assistance.
