The Fermilab Mentoring Program is soliciting profiles for mentors and mentees for the 2022 season.
Mentoring is a collaborative learning relationship between individuals who share mutual responsibility and accountability for helping the mentee work toward the fulfillment of clear and mutually defined learning goals.
Who qualifies as a mentor?
Individuals with a strong interest in mentoring others and a desire to learn.
Who qualifies as a mentee?
Individuals who have been at the Lab for a minimum of 2 years and have a desire to learn and develop.
The program requires a 12-month commitment. During that time, you also commit to meet a minimum of an hour once a month.
Some benefits to a mentoring relationship include:
- Mutual learning
- Increased self-awareness
- Personalized professional development
There are two ways to be matched; through the program or by pre-matching. Pre-matching involves the mentee finding a mentor to participate. For tips on finding a mentor, visit the mentoring page and review the How to Find a Mentor document.
