Dear Wilson Cluster users,
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Computing will be performing software updates that will require a downtime of the Wilson Institutional Cluster wc.fnal.gov. The cluster and all services will be unavailable during the outage. A reservation is in place starting the day before so that all running batch jobs will drain from the system prior to the outage. Remaining jobs will be held until after the downtime.
During this downtime, we will add missing plugins to SLURM, apply software security updates, and upgrade CUDA GPU drivers on GPU-equipped workers to the latest 470.52 release.
WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?
This work will start at 8 a.m. CDT on Tuesday, Aug. 24 and is expected to last through the afternoon on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?
During this time, all Wilson cluster devices will be unavailable including interactive use. All batch processing will be suspended during the maintenance window.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
Please be aware of the maintenance work and plan accordingly. We will notify users when the outage has completed.
