Dear Jobsub users,
WHAT ARE WE DOING?
Computing will be upgrading the production Jobsub servers (fifebatch.fnal.gov) to Jobsub 1.3.5. At the same time, jobsub_client 1.3.5 will also be marked “current” in UPS (Unix Product Support).
Users can view the release notes of Jobsub 1.3.5 at https://cdcvs.fnal.gov/redmine/projects/jobsub/repository/revisions/master/entry/doc/release.notes
WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?
Wednesday, Oct. 20; at noon Central Time
WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?
This upgrade is expected to be transparent to users, except for these two bugfixes in this release:
1. Email summary for DAGs was not being sent properly.
2. There was a bug introduced in Jobsub 1.3.2. If jobsub_q was used with the –jobid=CLUSTER flag, and CLUSTER was of the form 12345.@jobsub01.fnal.gov (notice the dot at the end of the cluster number), jobsub_q would return no jobs, rather than all the jobs of cluster 12345 (as described in the help text and documentation). This bug was brought to our attention recently, and has been fixed in Jobsub 1.3.5.
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
We highly encourage all Jobsub users to test their workflows against Jobsub 1.3.5. To do so, users will need to submit jobs to jobsubdevgpvm01.fnal.gov using the following commands:
setup -t jobsub_client
jobsub_submit -G <experiment> <args> –jobsub-server=jobsubdevgpvm01.fnal.gov file:///path/to/script <script_args>
