Mark Jeffers
Dear Colleagues,
It is my pleasure to announce that Mark Jeffers has been appointed head of the Facilities Engineering Service Section, effective immediately. Mark has been with Fermilab since September 2018, when he joined as the deputy head of FESS.
Over the past three years, Mark played a key role supporting and leading various initiatives at the lab including the development of multiple major construction projects, the transformation of the Campus Facility Planning Board and project prioritization process, and the movement to a data-driven decision-making process for measuring the performance of property and infrastructure projects.
Prior to Fermilab, Mark held a series of leadership roles with the federal government at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, in private industry with an architectural-engineering firm and as a nuclear engineering officer with the US Navy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering and masters’ degrees in energy engineering and business administration, both from University of Illinois Chicago.
