Fermilab Family Open House 2022 virtual brown bag lunch – Dec. 8

The Family Open House is one of Fermilab’s most popular events. Last year our virtual event connected more than 10,000 guests with the lab to experience the excitement of Fermilab science. Many members of the Fermilab community contributed in a wide variety of ways to make the open house possible.

The Office of Education and Public Engagement (EPE) is planning a multi-day virtual event, starting on Wednesday, Feb. 9, and concluding on Sunday, Feb. 13. The event will include virtual tours, interactive activities that can be done at home, talks, a community-created art gallery, and live-streamed demo shows. With the virtual format, we will once again have the opportunity to engage audiences with the excitement of Fermilab science—locally, nationally and internationally—from the comfort of their own home.

We are looking for Fermilab employees and users with creative ideas to help us offer this multi-day event. This includes:

  1. Demos that can be done live or be pre-recorded
  2. Meeting with students in their classrooms via Zoom
  3. Being a part of our online story walk, reading STEM books to kids
  4. Submitting art to Be a part of pARTicles 2.0
  5. Giving virtual tours
  6. We are also open to new ideas!

We will host a Zoom brown bag lunch discussion on Wednesday, Dec. 8, at noon to hear your ideas and share ours. Please complete this form to receive the Zoom link for the meeting, to indicate your area of interest, and to share your ideas. Thank you for helping to support Fermilab’s virtual Family Open House.
