In honor of Black History Month, the African American/Black Association (AABA) Laboratory Resource Group will spotlight Fermilab’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI) alumni.
This virtual-only event will be hosted via Zoom on Tuesday, Feb. 22, from noon – 1pm CST.
HBCUs and MISs are institutions of higher learning established prior to the Civil Rights Act of 1964 to provide collegiate-level educational opportunities for Black Americans who were largely disqualified and/or prohibited from attending established colleges and universities that served primarily White student populations.
Today there are 107 HBCU’s and 700 MSI’s in the United States serving over 4.8 million students representing a myriad of racial/ethnic backgrounds.
We invite you to join us as we celebrate how HBCUs and MSIs have shaped the professional careers of Fermilab employees and learn how these schools contributed to their current success.
