Updating centrally managed Windows 10 PCs to version 21H2 beginning Wednesday, March 16

Dear Windows 10 users,

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Computing will begin updating centrally managed Windows 10 desktops and laptops to Windows 10 version 21H2.

 

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?

This update will be available in Software Center for manual installation starting on Wednesday, March 16 at 10:15 p.m. Automatic installation and reboots will occur on Wednesday, March 23 if no manual installation has taken place.

 

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?

  • This update will require one or more reboots and may take about two hours, longer than the typical monthly patching.
  • The first time you log in after the update, you may see the Windows 10 sign-in animation.

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Since Windows 10 version 21H2 update may take about 2 hours to complete, if you want to install this update on your own at a time that is convenient for you, you can install the update via Software Center before March 23.
