RSA software upgrade–may impact MFA-June 29, 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Computing will be performing an RSA software upgrade on Wednesday, June 29, from 5 a.m. to 8 a.m.

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?

During the upgrade window above, you may experience intermittent issues using your RSA token to perform multifactor authentication (MFA).

MFA for email

  • RSA users: If you are connected to your Outlook Mail client prior to the upgrade window, you should not be impacted during the upgrade window. Your software token is good for 30 days from the last time you connected.
  • YubiKey users: You should not be impacted during the upgrade.
  • If you are accessing your email using a web browser (via WebMail/OWA), you may experience intermittent connectivity issues during the upgrade window.

MFA for VPN

  • If you use a YubiKey for MFA to access the lab VPN system, you should not be impacted during the upgrade.
  • If you use an RSA token to access the lab VPN system and are already connected to the VPN prior to the upgrade window, you should not be impacted during the upgrade window.
  • If you use an RSA token to access the lab VPN system and do not have an established connection prior to the upgrade window, you may experience intermittent connectivity issues during the upgrade window.

If you use this site to manage your RSA token, you may experience intermittent connectivity issues during the upgrade window.

 

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

  • If this RSA Authentication Manager maintenance window is unacceptable to you due to a conference or other important event, reply to this email as soon as possible.
  • If you encounter any issues using your RSA token after June 29 at 8:00 a.m., please report them to the Service Desk.
