Cisco AnyConnect client update for Windows available in Software Center starting Thursday, Sept. 29

WHAT ARE WE DOING?

Computing will be updating the Cisco AnyConnect client for Windows to version 4.10.05111 in Software Center.

As communicated to Mac users on Sept. 8 (see that communication at the bottom of this message), Cisco AnyConnect client version 4.10.05111 for Mac was available in the Self Service tool starting Sept. 8.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?

Thursday, Sept. 29

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?

  • Starting Sept. 29, an updated version (version 4.10.05111) of Cisco AnyConnect client will be available to install via Software Center for centrally managed Windows computers.
  • This update is not being installed on users’ centrally managed Windows and Mac computers directly because installing the update will disconnect any active VPN sessions. Users will have to install the updated version manually.
  • If you don’t install this update manually, the update will be automatically installed on your centrally managed Windows and Mac computer on Oct. 13.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

To install the updated version of Cisco AnyConnect client on your centrally managed Windows computer, do the following:

  1. Disconnect from VPN.
  2. Launch Software Center and install the new version.

To install the updated version of Cisco AnyConnect client on your centrally managed Mac computer, do the following:

  1. Disconnect from VPN.
  2. Launch the Self Service tool from the “Applications” folder and install the new version.
