WHAT ARE WE DOING?

The Information Technology Division will be upgrading Cisco AnyConnect VPN client to version 4.10.05111 on centrally managed Windows and Mac computers.

If you have already upgraded your VPN client to version 4.10.05111 via Software Center or Self Service, this upgrade will not affect you.

WHEN WILL THIS OCCUR?

Thursday, Oct. 13; at 5 a.m. Central Time

WHAT IS THE IMPACT TO YOU?

  • If your computer is not connected to the Fermilab network at the time of the upgrade, the VPN client will be upgraded the next time they connect to the Fermilab network.
  • A reboot may be required to complete the installation.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

  • Before leaving work on Wednesday, Oct. 12, you will need to leave your computers powered on, connected to the Fermilab network and logged off. If Cisco VPN client is installed, it will be upgraded to version 4.10.05111.
  • If you are off-site and connected to VPN, you will be disconnected from VPN during the upgrade. Once the upgrade is complete, you will need to manually reconnect to VPN.
