A child wearing a gray toboggan and blue coat faces away from the camera, trudging in furry boots through a line of leaf-blown brown leaves on a large sidewalk against a white picket fence and into a bright blue building, set against a gray sky.

On Nov. 11, 2020, a child tromps through a trail of leaves on their way to daycare on Fermilab’s campus. On Feb. 2, 2021, snow sprays above a John Deere as it clears snow from the daycare parking lot.

Women at work

Last week a front-end electronics board for MINERvA was replaced by a team of detector experts — who coincidentally all happened to be women. This is the first time an all-female team has performed this task. Dr. Carrie McGivern took a celebratory picture on the elevator on the way up to the surface from the underground detector.
