The obedient plant, a native prairie wildflower, was recently blooming in abundance in the prairie on the north side of Pine Street. Obedient plants are so named because gently repositioned petals — for example, petals that are rotated around the stem — stay put.
On April 12 a female mountain bluebird visited A.E. Sea. The mountain bluebird is a western species occasionally seen here on migration.
