After 42 years of service, Bill Boroski is retiring! His last working day will be April 28, 2023. Bill joined the lab in March 1981 as a technician in the Technical Support Section, fabricating spool pieces and later quadrupoles for the Tevatron. In the mid-1980s, engineering and R&D work on the Superconducting Super Collider was ramping up, and Bill was given the opportunity to join the TSS Engineering Laboratory. Beginning April 24, 2023, a Fermilab road culvert replacement project will begin to replace seven culverts around the Batavia site, which will require road closures. The second road closure will occur on Discovery Rd. near NS1 from May 3 through May 11. Please see map linked below for alternative routes around the work area. As of January 1, 2023, Executive Order 14026 stipulates that the minimum wage rate that generally must be paid to workers performing work on or in connection with covered contracts increased to $16.20 per hour. Updated seasonal and on-call rates are located on the Compensation/Pay Rates website. These seasonal rates do not include internships that are part of a formal program, however internship positions must also adhere to the new minimum wage rate.
